The source of many problems can be found in the Windows Registry. Missing, blank or corrupt keys are just a few issues that may cause havoc on your computer. Most cleanup utilities are limited to scanning the registry. If you want to fix any issues, you have to buy the applications and there is no way you can tell if they are effective or not. You will not encounter such surprises while using Registry Recycler. Furthermore, the software provides fast and reliable scanning features, so it will not take long to clean up your registry.

Unlike other similar software, Registry Recycler is absolutely free. You can enjoy its capabilities, for as long as you want, without encountering any adds or nag screens. The application works on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 and its system requirements are quite modest.

The software places easy to understand tools at your disposal, in a familiar environment. You may access different sections, on the same interface, to scan and clean the registry, back it up and defrag it, manage startup programs and view a summary. Before you start the scanning process, you can target specific locations in the registry, like COM/ActiveX entries, application paths, program shortcuts and others.

While scanning, Registry Recycler will let you know how many issues it finds in each location. The problems are displayed in a tree structure and you can select or deselect individual items, depending on which issues you want to fix. Additionally, you may add any item to an ignore list.

Registry Recycler can be set to back up the registry automatically, before it starts any repairs, but it is possible to perform manual backups as well. It takes about a minute to complete the process and you can restore your registry entries at any time. Scans can be scheduled on a daily or weekly basis and the software can automatically shut down, after it fixes the registry. This means that you only need to keep the application running to fix any registry issues.

Pros

You can choose which registry sections to scan and which issues to fix or ignore. It is possible to schedule automatic scans, repairs and back up processes. The application is lightweight and it is free.

Cons

The possibility of scheduling an automatic shutdown for the computer would be a useful addition. While running on your computer, Registry Recycler will keep your registry clean and your computer healthy.
